Session 89 
Barqus rolled a nat20 to break off his dragon horns as a sign of his commitment as a Chattan to restoring their clans and destroying the children of Tiamat. This after fistfighting with Claddagh MacChattan, head of the Drake Hall dragon fighters and (it turns out) secret member of the Knights of Dul'Wraithe (legendary Chattan heroes who held the line at Osgiliarh, basically, as the dragon's first arrived in Chattan lands generations ago).
Barq is fine, as his Hellboy maneuver actually ended the fight when it knocked him unconscious (unarmed crit damage against himself lol) and he got healing right away. Found out from the cross-section of his horn that his dragon blood is, indeed, silver, and it runs through his bones in the marrow. Sheds red, though.
Minn (who is now an accomplished enchanter) managed to cast Fabricate on the broken-off horns to make a new handaxe to replace the one Barq lost after Kratos-throwing it at that one pixie in the Druid Cache.
And Barq had the stumps filed flat (like Hellboy) with celtic iconography and knotwork scrimshawed into it. Now they're headed to Giant country again to enlist some help for a recon mission back to Dul'Wraithe, which is where they suspect the White Dragon demigod son of Tiamat is currently parked, since a terrible ice storm a hundred miles across is currently afflicting Drake Hall, which is about 100 miles from there. 
 

Session 90 
AFV traveled to Alborg, capital of giant country, to enlist what aid they could for the upcoming recon mission to Dul'Wraithe; instead, they found the giants beset by the (arguably) weakest of Tiamats sons, Makot the Plague Lord (green dragon). His breath is plague-ridden vapor that can raise its victims to undeath! With a carefully placed message to Ari, the shadow of the light was alerted to the impending danger in their own neck of the woods, and likely assistance was enlisted. Before the session wrapped up, the team went on a hunt with the two half Giants to see if they could strike a blow against Makots forces, setting their sites on a smaller green that was then chased off by a huge green... Which was summarily slain by our heroes. 
 

Session 91 
After hastily planning the defense of Alborg, the AFV hunker down and prepare for the imminent arrival of dragons, zombies, and one of the sons of Tiamat; awakening to the thunder of war at the gates, our heroes leap into action! Will axes, claws, spells, arrows, or even the return of an old ally be able to stem the tide of Makot's forces? And if they weather this first wave, can the AFV hope to survive an extended siege? 
 

Session 95 
In the midst of defending the giant capital, the first of Tiamat's five sons makes his appearance, and the AFV will have to pull out all the stops to defeat him. Will the heroes of Avalon survive? Will the giants who fight alongside them have a home left standing when it's all over? Will anyone be able to withstand the withering influence of Makot? And if not, what fallout will be left behind?

Session 89 
Barqus rolled a nat20 to break off his dragon horns as a sign of his commitment as a Chattan to restoring their clans and destroying the children of Tiamat. This after fistfighting with Claddagh MacChattan, head of the Drake Hall dragon fighters and (it turns out) secret member of the Knights of Dul'Wraithe (legendary Chattan heroes who held the line at Osgiliarh, basically, as the dragon's first arrived in Chattan lands generations ago).
Barq is fine, as his Hellboy maneuver actually ended the fight when it knocked him unconscious (unarmed crit damage against himself lol) and he got healing right away. Found out from the cross-section of his horn that his dragon blood is, indeed, silver, and it runs through his bones in the marrow. Sheds red, though.
Minn (who is now an accomplished enchanter) managed to cast Fabricate on the broken-off horns to make a new handaxe to replace the one Barq lost after Kratos-throwing it at that one pixie in the Druid Cache.
And Barq had the stumps filed flat (like Hellboy) with celtic iconography and knotwork scrimshawed into it. Now they're headed to Giant country again to enlist some help for a recon mission back to Dul'Wraithe, which is where they suspect the White Dragon demigod son of Tiamat is currently parked, since a terrible ice storm a hundred miles across is currently afflicting Drake Hall, which is about 100 miles from there. 
 

Session 90 
AFV traveled to Alborg, capital of giant country, to enlist what aid they could for the upcoming recon mission to Dul'Wraithe; instead, they found the giants beset by the (arguably) weakest of Tiamats sons, Makot the Plague Lord (green dragon). His breath is plague-ridden vapor that can raise its victims to undeath! With a carefully placed message to Ari, the shadow of the light was alerted to the impending danger in their own neck of the woods, and likely assistance was enlisted. Before the session wrapped up, the team went on a hunt with the two half Giants to see if they could strike a blow against Makots forces, setting their sites on a smaller green that was then chased off by a huge green... Which was summarily slain by our heroes. 
 

Session 91 
After hastily planning the defense of Alborg, the AFV hunker down and prepare for the imminent arrival of dragons, zombies, and one of the sons of Tiamat; awakening to the thunder of war at the gates, our heroes leap into action! Will axes, claws, spells, arrows, or even the return of an old ally be able to stem the tide of Makot's forces? And if they weather this first wave, can the AFV hope to survive an extended siege? 
 

Session 95 
In the midst of defending the giant capital, the first of Tiamat's five sons makes his appearance, and the AFV will have to pull out all the stops to defeat him. Will the heroes of Avalon survive? Will the giants who fight alongside them have a home left standing when it's all over? Will anyone be able to withstand the withering influence of Makot? And if not, what fallout will be left behind?

Nixie's wears magic like makeup, and thus her true appearance is hidden in a cloud of enchantments, illusions, and transmutations. She presents herself as an alluring gnomish girl, with gifts for performance in song and dance. She stands about four and a half feet tall, but uses magic to appear anywhere from three and a half feet, to five and a half feet, depending on who she is trying to impress. She wears a hooded dark blue velvet cloak, hiding her sequined dancer's costume beneath it. She uses magic to hide the nature of her clothes however, and many would assume her to simply be wearing a common dress beneath the cloak.

Nixie presents herself as an easy going girl, with a flirtatious side that can get her in to trouble as easily as it can get her out of it. Inside however, she struggles with deep insecurities, and the ghosts of her past make it hard for her to trust people in the present. Chapter One: "The town with no name."

Nixie joined a Buffle train out of Beacon's Ridge, headed toward Claxon. It was a good job, and although she lacked the usual size and appearance of a guard, her charms were enough to get her the job. She only intended to go part way though. About two thirds of the way to Claxon, the road passed close to the Green Arbor, home of the hunter's guild. The hunters were an elite organization, and the best jobs, not to mention the most lucrative ones, went to hunters. Having only recently found herself free of a master, Nixie thought this sounded like a good chance at a fresh start.

The Buffle Train made good time, until one morning they were attacked by bandits. Several other guards joined battle against the bandits, and Nixie went to aid them. [[Teraletzah]], an Asura from another world, seemed to have much in common with Nixie when it came to magic, and they made a good team. The cleric [[Zenith]] made a strong impression with his high moral standards, and his courageous efforts. The only other guard who risked the fight was a somewhat strange man called [[Samson]]. He was odd, and seemed to see the world through analytical eyes. Still, he was strong, and very useful to have around.

The group of four traveled on to Dalin'fer, where they turned in the bandits for a small fortune in gold. This was their first taste of the adventuring life, and it hooked them. They soon accepted a job to go back, and clear out the remaining bandits. For this they would need help though, and the group enlisted the aid of a sorcerer named [[Qaleth Jassen|Qaleth]]. They returned to the town where the bandits were holed up, a town with no name. They succeeded in killing the assassin Pelinor without raising alarm, and after making plans with the local parson Feldryk, they made their way to an abandoned house on the edge of town, to prepare for their next hit.

After a brief conversation, the team agreed to deal with the most dangerous threat first They heard that the Cannibal(brother of the bandit boss Garryk) would hunt at night, and that many of the other bandits held no love or loyalty for the barbaric monster. The team moved on the house that the cannibal was using, and engaged in combat. They found the cannibal's two huge dogs inside, and while they battled the dogs, the cannibal grabbed Qaleth from behind, knifing him before beginning to drag him screaming into the dark. The party came to Qaleth's aid, and the cannibal eventually tried to retreat back to his house. The party managed to finally kill him, but not before raising some alarm from the other bandits. The party dragged the corpses inside, and the other bandits found only a bloody field, with no bodies present. Chalking it up to the cannibal's hunting, they left, and the party gave a collective sigh of relief. They had now taken two of the bounties they were after, and that would leave only Garryk as the final individual bounty to be collected.

Taking time to investigate the stables before morning, the party found Vilnin(a burly thug) sharpening his blade, and waiting for the attack. They convinced him to give them information, before allowing him to take a horse and leave the village. Feeling good about their achievements, the party prepared to return to their hideout before dawn. Unfortunately, the fresh blood from the fight with the cannibal had brought the interests of a troll, and the party was suddenly thrown into battle against the horrendous beast. In a flash of courage, Samson rushed the troll, slashing it deeply. The troll however turned its attention on Samson, and clawed, smashed, and chewed the life out of the brave android. The party succeeded in killing the troll, with the aid of [[Indy]], a half-elf ranger who had been tracking the beast; but had to retreat quickly to their hideout with the body of their fallen friend. Now they would have to make a hard decision as to what would come next. To leave the village and seek a resurrection for Samson would risk losing Garryk and the other bandits. To stay however would mean that they would face a much harder time without their warrior friend, and it also meant that the window for resurrection would be slipping away.

After meeting a local strong man the next morning, the party decided to see the job through. They would help liberate the town, and in return, the local could direct them toward an old woman up the mountain who might be able to help them with their dead friend. The party made their way to the big house, slaying the boss, and after a brief scuffle in town, the bandits were sent packing.

Making their way up the mountain, the party found the old woman before taking her shopping list of items to bring Samson back.

Nixie's magic is very much focused on enchantment, and she uses her charm hex, as well as spells to manipulate situations if she thinks she needs to, or could benefit from it.

Nixie is also an alchemist of sorts, being first sold to a Drow alchemist before being purchased for her sweet voice, and naturally enchanting grace. Because of this, she has already crafted some gun powder, and will continue to expand her capabilities as time goes on.

Her Familiar, "Skittles", is a Pocket Raptor. He was a gift from her patron when she was given to him by her masters, in return for her enhanced abilities to serve them. While she is unaware of Skittles' own background, she sees the small raptor as her best friend and closest companion. This is much to the raptor's chagrin, as he both hates her and needs her. For this reason, he tolerates her perpetual doting.

-A simple flintlock pistol, with a polished red wood grip, and dark iron parts. The only defining mark is the simple Templar Shield mounted in the grip.

"Reach"
-Her first Pepper box, and first successful attempt at the craft, this pistol was enchanted at her father's command to give it extended range. It is a mix of brass plated steel, and creme colored wood, ornately scrolled with Cordoban designs.

"Pepper Box"
-A second pepper box, crafted as she continued to work at her skill in gunsmithing, this pistol is rather simple, but also sports brass plating and pale birch wood.

"Hawk's Moon"
-Her first personally designed and constructed firearm, Saidra labored for months on this particular design. When it was ready, she ordered the parts machined, and personally checked them for perfection. She finally crafted it while visiting Brummen's family in Chanson, and later had it enchanted with Holy Magic. This pistol is also tied to her belt by a leather strap, a gift from Brummen.

=First and Second Impressions=

Appearance: Saidra is a young catfolk female, but her eyes bear a potential for both strength and compassion that are uncommon in one so young. She has pearlescent white fur, gleaming in the light with hues of pink, gold, and purple. In her world, this is a mark of those who carry the blood of the djinn in their veins, but so far from home, the true meaning of the coloring is lost to most.

Personality: Having been raised in a palace, Saidra has had to learn many of the day to day skills that common people learn as children. Still, she has a deep loyalty and determination in her, and has set herself to accomplish whatever she needs to, if it is for the good of her friends.

Other Skills: Saidra is an excellent marksman, and an accomplished craftsman in firearms and ammunition. She has also learned to cook passably well, and continues to improve under Mu's tutelage.

=BackStory=

Background: Saidra was born to Cyrus the Unifier, and [[Nadia]]. She lived a carefree life in the palace of Cordoba, but always had an interest in anything her father was doing. While many thought this unbecoming of a young lady, Cyrus encouraged her interest, and put his Captain of the Guard to work training her in the sword. Artaxes had been a long time friend of Cyrus, and so while he also questioned the importance of the princess' instruction in such things, he would not deny his emperor and friend. Saidra grew up the oldest of four children, with twin sisters Atya and Nayia, and the baby of the family being her brother Hassan. When Saidra was seventeen years old, tragedy struck the nation. Assassins from the west managed to breach security at the palace, and murdered the royal family in their sleep. Only Saidra survived, being plagued with nightmares that night, and tumbling from her bed as the fateful crossbow bolt struck the pillow she had slept upon. The assassin was never able to complete the last kill, thanks to the Royal Guard that intervened at that time.

Saidra was robbed of her family, and set to be empress in her father's place, all in the same night. Her heart was filled with pain and anger, and she immediately set about gathering the army to bring war to the west. Her army was gathered and dispatched to the west, while Saidra observed the required rites of coronation in the capitol. With the rites completed, and with news of border incursions already in the court, Saidra prepared to join her armies at the front nearly a month after the death of her family. She received word from Artaxes that a mysterious old craftsman had offered to make the armor for the empress, and had done an exquisite job. Upon donning the armor however, the empress was caught in a magical sand storm, and with a strong voice telling her that she was exiled from her home until such time as she could return and save it, Saidra was cast out into the ethereal plane.

She lingered there for only a few hours, but the time seemed both eternal and but a moment. She felt only a coldness in her mind, and sunk into darkness. When she awoke, she was in a bed at the gold goblin, surrounded by a strange group of people, all looking inquisitively at her. They seemed to feel some level of responsibility for her, and as she grew to know them, she grew to love them as friends and family. She tried to work, to show her appreciation, but when her cooking proved disastrous, she was invited to learn from the best, and as Mu taught Saidra to cook, she became more at home in this new strange world.

The next six months passed in relative calm. Aside from a few exceptions, Saidra remained close to Riddleport, and focused on helping her friends. Kin was still learning to use the Dragon Ballista better, Aysel was around off and on, and of course there was Katsu to think of. Saidra enjoyed the calm, and was just beginning to settle into a comfortable rythem when the six months came to a close, and an unexpected new chapter began...

Saidra had returned to the Gold Goblin after the latest of her adventures, and it was nearly six months since they had freed Aysel and gained ownership of the fell night realm. One day, as Saidra mused about her favorite cleric, and absentmindedly drew plans for some new mechanical toy; she was abruptly stopped by the familiar rush of warmth as her sand armor burst around her. It was shifting again, but this time not so much in appearance, as in potential. Although Saidra was no arcanist, she somehow knew in her heart what this meant. The armor was ready to return home, and somehow, it could get her there. She waited excitedly for her friends to return, to share the good news!

Tanis is an adult by years lived, but never matured physically beyond that of a preteen gnomish girl. For this reason, she is only eighteen inches tall, and is often misjudged by those who don't know her. She has kept her head shaved as part of her order, and generally uses her sleeves of many garments to ensure that she is always properly dressed for the occasion.

Update: Since being trapped in the old city of Korvosa, and thus cut off from her temple home, Tanis has not shaved her head. Dark brown stubble has begun to grow, and her head is now covered in a thin vale of short hair.

Tanis spent many years happily at the temple, basking in the glory of her unique position, and the reverence with which the common people treated her. She was the "child Oracle of Apsu", and that came with a long list of perks she enjoyed. Things changed with the sudden death of the king, and when she was asked to join the queen's service to help stabilize her city, Tanis never hesitated. She remained loyal to the queen, working to foil the plots of the chief inquisitor and his allies.

"Fortune Find You"

Tanis was first drawn from her easy life at the temple, when a strange voice disturbed her dreams, calling her to come out into the streets, and give aid to one who needs it most. She followed the directions given by the voice, and as she came to a small wooden door on a narrow side street, she was brought face to face with a towering half orc woman in heavy chain armor and armed with a sword. A brief introduction revealed the intimidating woman to be a kind hearted paladin of the Moon elf goddess, Arianrohd. They both had come for the same voice, and after meeting the fortune teller who had summoned them, they left to bring an end to the vile practices of Adriam Laam, and his child labor force. The work was done, and the fortune teller's son avenged, her soul was put at rest, and her image faded from view...

"The king is dead"

That was the first time that Tanis met and worked with Rrutha Droggada, the Half Orc paladin, but it would not be the last. The two stayed in touch, and one day as Rrutha stopped by the grand temple of Apsu to visit the child oracle, their otherwise enjoyable visit was cut short by the sound of alarm bells in the city, and rioting in the streets. The king had been sick for sometime, and as many blamed 'the curse of the crimson throne', his sudden death while not unexpected, sent many into a panic over what would come of the city and it's crown. With such fear rampant in the streets, the mobs soon turned their attention toward the temples, and even the marbled halls of Apsu were threatened with vandalism. Tanis volunteered with her friend Rrutha, to risk the streets, and ensure that the Queen was not hurt in this perilous time. On the way, they were joined by another character, one Sindar. An elven Magus, Sindar was caught in the open when the city erupted, and now seeing few safe options left, threw himself in with the two friends. The three of them made it to the steps of the palace, before a beast from the sewers burst up onto the street, and looked for an easy meal in the pandemonium. Tanis turned to join her friends in fighting the beast, when a frightened guard burst from cover to snatch her out of harms way. Angered at being treated like a child, and at not being able to aid her friends, Tanis turned her withering gaze on the hapless guard, and revealed a measure of her power as she commanded him to put her down. He was unable to resist, and soon she and her friends had secured the front gates once again. The queen heard of their heroism, and asked the trio to join a special task force to help bring peace and order to the city. This was the first time that Tanis had come face to face with her queen, and she determined there that she would loyally serve her queen, and protect her dignity and honor from all quarters. This was also where she first met the chief inquisitor, and determined from the first, that he was a power hungry man, with eyes on the throne. He was not to be trusted. The three were given lodging at the garrison, and put at the disposal of General Croft.

"The Meat Boys"

Tanis and her friends were asked to investigate a suspicious butcher's shop in the city. It was surprisingly well stocked with fresh meat, although several people in the area seemed to be getting sick with some food poisoning. They arrived, knowing to ask for "the special cuts". Tanis, playing the role of a child asked to do the shopping for mother, entered the shop under the watchful eye of the half orc paladin who took it upon herself to keep the child safe in the market. Tanis asked about the special cuts, and the merchant nodded before stepping away. After waiting for sometime, the trio decided to be less formal in their inquiry. They began to search the back rooms of the butchery, and found that while the owner was oblivious to any maleficence, his employees were selling as food, any meat that they could cut up. This included sourcing their meats from the local population of street folk and otherwise forgotten souls of the city. Battle was had, and after bringing swift justice to the scoundrels, Tanis and her friends returned to the garrison.

"A bird in hand"

The death of the king was found to be by poison, and thus an investigation into the identity of the assassin was set about. The chief inquisitor was all too quick to set his suspicions on a simple bard who had come to serve the royal family for a few days before the king's death. Trina Savore, the bard in question, was to be found and arrested, and then interrogated for the king's murder. None of this set well with tanis, and as she was inclined to believe that the inquisitor's hands were stained in this murder, she saw this as an attempt to get the girl behind the walls of the inquisition's fortress, and coerce a confession from her. Tanis was not alone in this belief, and General Croft was inclined to agree that this all seemed a little too easy. General Croft asked the friends to find Trina first, and spirit her back to the garrison for safe keeping until Croft could figure out what was going on. By the time the friends reached the area of the old city that Trina was supposed to be in, the Hell Knights had already cordoned off the area. After a brief argument, and denial of passage into the restricted area, Tanis and her friends stole into the area through a less obvious method. They climbed the wall. It took only a little while to find Trina, but the Bard was spooked, and when they tried to reason with her, she started to run. Tanis had purchased a potion of invisibility for the bard previously, and now offered it as a token of good will. The bard took it, before staggering them all with her bewitching voice, and vanishing from their sight. Disheartened, they began their walk back. Things got even worse though, when they saw Trina being walked out in chains by several hell knights. Tanis tried to interfere, and give Trina a chance to run, but it was no good. The Hell knights turned on the small oracle, and only by the power of Apsu did she resist their much stronger magic. Her resistance was complete however, and caused the hell knights to retreat with their prize, rather than attempt anymore efforts against the strange child upon whom their magics had no effect. This incident would not go unnoticed by the chief inquisitor.

"Spider's Web"

The trio had little else they could do to help Trina, but they were not about to give up. Still, there was another matter at hand. General Croft had asked the group to help remove a thorn from the queen's side. A local noble was making dangerous remarks about the queen, and needed to be...dissuaded from such activity. For this reason, they were encouraged to seek out the spider king in his dockside conglomeration of various permanently moored vessels. For this mission, they were introduced to bellinar, a bard who had prior adventuring experience, and could aid them in finding the Spider King's lair. They accepted the assignment, but first went to the Dark Citadel, home of the inquisition. Tanis again played the child, but this time bluffed her way past the guards with a story about a school project on the men and women who protect the city. This bought her a tour of the citadel, and allowed her to come face to face with Trina Savore. Unfortunately, this Chief Inquisitor was just returning for another session with Trina, and recognized the group from the stories his men had shared previously. He called Tanis and the others out for who they were, and when he saw the looks of recognition and fear in his own men, he took action to tarnish the reputation that Tanis and her friends had earned. "So, you're the one who they say cannot be touched by magic." The Chief Inquisitor rushed Tanis, gripping her as he bodily threw the small child gnome against the far wall. She slammed into it with a sickening thud, and bounced off before plummeting to the floor. Quick action from Rrutha kept Tanis from breaking anything more in the fall, and as Rrutha caught the falling child gnome, the inquisitor turned to walk away. "See them out. They are not worth my time." The Hell Knights watched their leader walk away in victory, and roughly pushed the friends outside, no longer fearful of the small child who still seemed to writhe in agony from her mistreatment. What they failed to see in their over confidence, was the small piece of wire in her fingers. Even as she felt the world spin around her from the abuse, Tanis had acted quickly to cast message on Trina. Now, on their way out, she held a brief but informative conversation with the bard. They hadn't broken her yet, but they would. Trina's only hope was that they would solve the murder before it was too late for her.

After some much needed healing from Rrutha, tanis and the others attended to their actual mission. They entered the Spider King's lair, and brokered for the information they would need to make this noble back off. The Spider King, also called Barvossi, offered to play a game of chance. Win, and the party would get their information. Lose, and Barvossi would get the gold. When the game didn't go in their favor, the group made a fateful decision. They attacked. The room was set on fire, and when Barvossi triggered a trap door system that opened the entire room to a pit of spider webs beneath, the party just managed to hold on. Tanis cast sleep on Barvossi, and he slumped over at his desk. Retrieving the information they needed, the party dropped into the lower chamber to make their escape. It was then that they realized the true threat of the spider king. The spider web was all dreamsilk, and as it burned, it filled the air with a sickly sweet odor that muddled their thoughts, and reduced the party to little more than addled buffoons with the collective intelligence of a small kindergarten. They managed to escape, although it was an experience that would echo throughout their adventures with unforeseen ramifications.

"The Dead Warrens"

Amid the chaos of the last several weeks in the city, a new problem has surfaced. The local tribes that share these lands have a new bone to pick with Korvosa, and are threatening war. Their prince was in the city during the unrest, and seems to have been slain. His body must be returned to the tribes, or they will bring sufffering on the farms and villages first, and the city ultimately. The friends are joined by a tribesman named Mane'ha. He is not of the local tribes directly, but seemed to have some distant relation to them. he would help in this endeavor, and seek to bring peace again between the peoples. They followed their leads to an area near the cemetery called the dead warrens. it was a place of honeycombed tunnels and natural hollows under the city that had served long ago as a place of burial, as well as secret rites and gatherings. Now, it was believed to be the hideaway of a necromancer named Rolthe, one who was believed to have taken the body of the prince. They destroyed the necromancer's lair, and retrieved the body parts of the prince. They were so disgusted by what they saw in the dead warrens, that the party decided to purge it with fire, and only remembered as an after thought, that one of the necromancer's minions was still inside. With little mercy for the plight of the creature, they left it to die. Tanis didn't realize it then, but this would be one strike too many, and Apsu would not turn a blind eye to his ill behaved oracle any longer.
